Only 30 pieces were made of the MP-14 Origin - an exceptional timepiece designed by Jeff Koons for Hublot. The sapphire and titanium watch is composed of 594 components, including a central transparent sapphire dome inspired by Koons' Gazing Ball works. Under the dome is the central tourbillon which acts as the mechnical "first pulse" driving the watch's movement. Zünc Studio worked with Hublot to create 3D renders of the watch before it was even produced in real life, as part of a global launch campaign.

The campaign was driven by a hero film, which introduces various angles of the watch within a cosmic setting. The universe and the forces within it are a major source of inspiration for Koons, who says the MP-14 Origin embodies "the moment where energy becomes form and form becomes time," alluding to the universe's beginning. Concentric rings in white gold, set with baguette-cut diamonds and blue sapphires, create orbital layers that hint at how a watch movement and a solar system are not so different.

⁣Primitive geometries - the cubes of the minute and hour markers, repeated circular shapes and the octagonal case - create an interesting dyanmic between the simplicity of shapes and the complexity of the object's creation (it requires about 534 hours to assemble).

Hublot hosted an exclusive event in New York City to celebrate their creative partnership with Jeff Koons. A blacked out room with a single podium displayed the MP-14 Origin under a spotlight, and we created content for the wall projections that surrounded it. An infinitely looping cosmic starscape wrapped around the room, with occasional comets shooting past and a slow rotation giving a sense that guests were suspended in orbit themselves.
